Our story.
Jena grew up on the North Shore of Auckland, went to Rangitoto College and was a member of Mairangi Bay Surf Lifesaving Club. For the last two decades, she has been a Sports Physiotherapist, and then upskilled and specialised in Hand Therapy for the latter part.
Having dabbled in many sports over the years, she has had a fair share of injuries too. From breaking ankles numerous times to a nasty scaphoid fracture playing netball, breaking her foot & ankle & splitting her kneecap during training for Wakeboarding Nationals in 2004. The most recent doozy was fracturing her knee playing Touch at the Showgrounds! She can empathise with the time, effort & frustration that it takes to get back into the full swing of daily life.
Jena has a special interest in sports injury & injury prevention and has been involved with many sports teams & individuals at a representative, national & international level, from Rugby to Tennis & Netball. In addition to her qualifications, Jena won the ‘M.L. Roberts Research Prize’ which meant being published in the NZ Journal of Physiotherapy.
After 30 years on the North Shore, Jena moved to Warkworth with her husband and their two young children who attend Warkworth primary school.
Her goal as a fully accredited Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy Clinic is to provide the students and staff of Mahurangi College with a friendly, kind and caring environment – with emphasis on trust, a high standard of communication and professional excellence. This is to ensure the students and staff feel at ease during their physiotherapy and hand therapy journey and can trust us with their care.
No pressure, no fuss, nice and easy, and paper-free.
